Get organised! How to improve the efficiency of your laundry room
Make washday a breeze with our streamlined laundry room suggestions. Nobody likes washing clothes. Not only is it a chore collecting washing inside your business or domestic dwelling, you have to physically move these items to your laundry room, then organise them, wash them, dry them and iron them, all of which eats into your time. One way to make this task slightly easier is to install a laundry chute. At least this way you speed up the process of moving dirty garments to your laundry room. Another solution is to improve the efficiency of your utility area, and by making simple changes, washday doesn't have to be such a drag. Try some of these fast laundry solutions: Double up on laundry baskets What does your existing washday routine consist of? Do you simply collect every single item of dirty clothing, toss this into a basket and throw the items down your laundry chute? This probably means you spend an eternity sorting through different items of clothing once you retrieve them in your laundry room. All those lights, darks, whites and coloured garments will need to be sorted and sifted, ready to be washed separately. To reduce time, have different baskets at home for dirty laundry. Place darks in one and light or coloured items in the other, then when you come to collect the washing, it should be easier to organise. Shelve it and mark it One of the easiest ways to organise your laundry room is to create plenty of storage solutions. From pull out baskets to shelves, worktops where you can fold clothing, to drawers that contain pegs, detergents or fabric softeners, the more storage solutions you have, the easier this will make it for you on washday. Create places for strain removers, pre-treatment solutions and washing detergents, leave a few shelves empty to place freshly laundered items, and make a functional environment where everything is to hand. You can mark shelves up so you know where everything goes and really streamline your laundry activities. Ditch flimsy containers Do you hate it when soap powder is scattered all over your laundry room floor? Does the sight of spilt fabric conditioner drive you crazy, and when was the last time your shelves were free from remnants of stain remover? Stop this happening by storing cleaning detergents in their own sturdy containers. Buy larger glass or plastic containers, mark them up so you know what is contained inside and use scoops if necessary to prevent spills and unavoidable waste. Getting organised with laundry doesnt have to be difficult. A great place to start is with a laundry chute and this is something we can help you with, dont hesitate to give us a call. [Return] |
